For a game where the majority of gamblers rarely consider fortune, there are tonnes of superstitions in poker. When you mention that a player was blessed in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you mention it. For example, if you say that you were unlucky, your chances may never change.
Ok, that may sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game loaded with folklores. Did you know that if you are gambling a game with 2 seperate decks and you are asked to select the deck, you should always select the deck that is the furthest away from you? Or, how about If you get a streak of bad cards, you must hang out on a hankerchief to destroy your poor luck? It’s certainly thought of as good luck to blow through a pack of cards while they are being randomized.
Some other fascinating poker superstitions are:
- You might be able to change the run of cards by going around your chair 3 times.
- The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the entrance.
- The worst spot has its back to a fireplace.
- When switching seats, you should constantly do so clockwise.
- The unluckiest poker card is the four of clubs.
- It’s most unlucky to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
- Friday is a poor day for gambling on cards.
- The thirteenth is also a bad day, despite what day of the week it is.
