Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the east with the western in a fantastic game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the house, unlike almost all other poker games that players bet with other players. By wagering against the dealer, starting players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more advanced individuals taking their cash.
Another Pai Gow edge is the fairly leisurely game pace, novices can take their time and scheme without having to make hasty decisions.
It is also easier to play for an extended time with basically a small amount of cash since, to lose, both of your hands has to be under each of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards face up and the house is dealt 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and a two card hand must be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the houses.
