Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve final poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest enthusiasts in the world. While wagering on online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the min buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amount. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world may be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen playing net poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in big stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
