Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve final table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers in the world. While betting on web poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to settle at the game with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full dollar value. I think tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen competing in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
